Simplified Giving.  The ATLANTA Gay & Lesbian Community FOUNDATION handles all administration and record-keeping. Donors receive one receipt for tax purpose for all charitable giving made through Donor-Advised Funds.

Maximized Giving.  A Donor-Advised Fund provides flexibility to receive a tax benefit when it is advantageous for the donor. Initial gifts and additional contributions to the Fund may be made in any amount (of $5,000 or above) and at any time. Distribution from the fund may occur at any time over the lifetime of the fund. In addition to maximizing tax advantages, The ATLANTA Gay & Lesbian Community FOUNDATION works to ensure your generosity has high impact by working with recipient organizations on developing sustainable capacity in forecasting, planning, executing, and evaluating their direct service.

Focused Giving.  Donors recommend all charitable distributions from a Donor-Advised Fund to any 501(c) (3) organization that shares a common focus or particular approach to a problem. (All donor recommendations are subject to pro forma approval by The ATLANTA Gay & Lesbian Community FOUNDATION.) Donors work with the Foundation staff to find appropriate nonprofit partners that share the focus of the donor and meet other donor-recommended requirements such as nondiscrimination policy, vigorous program evaluation, efficiency, outcomes tracking, real collaboration, etc.

Enhanced Giving.  Donor-Advised Fund allows the donor to accumulate monies for a large gift or make regular distributions over time. Clear outcome measurements can also be established by the donor while the Foundation monitors organizational compliance. Added privacy is also enhanced with the Foundation serving as the grant-maker. There is no limit to the number of grants a donor may recommend. Couples, neighbors, circles of friends, co-workers, etc. can magnify their regular giving by pooling resources to create a fund tailored to their interests as well.
