The Foundation strives to realize these goals: (1) promote and highlight the philanthropic leadership of sexual minorities in Georgia through bundled giving, community grants, and donor-advised funds. (2) improve the philanthropic capacity of groups, projects, organizations, and donors based on best practices and standards of excellence; 3) educate donors on philanthropic practices, organizational effectiveness, and donor rights, expectations, and values-fulfillment; (4) convene stakeholders to address unmet community needs collaboratively based on informed research and careful analysis;
| The ATLANTA Gay & Lesbian Community FOUNDATION serves the LGBTQ and other sexual minority communities and its nonprofit organizations, both large and small, established and emerging. It supports qualified projects through DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS, COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANTS, and organizational CAPACITY BUILDING SERVICES. The ATLANTA Gay & Lesbian Community FOUNDATION works through individually-tailored DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS, peer-reviewed COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANTS (for accumulated smaller gifts focused on unmet community needs), and expert CAPACITY BUILDING SERVICES (which provide critically needed technical assistance). Through these specialized and unique services, The ATLANTA Gay & Lesbian Community FOUNDATION operates as a kind of development, fundraising, research, public relations, and quality control department of the sexual minority community. It facilitates LGBTQA philanthropy in strategic ways by working one-on-one with donors and strengthens direct service organizations with expert services so they are able to better focus on their mission, programs, and client service. |
